Marijuana found packaged for sale in pickup truck

OCALA - Ocala police confiscated packaged marijuana from a pickup truck they had been pursuing late Wednesday night.

The department’s Bicycle Unit had received a tip that a black Dodge pickup truck might have some drugs inside, according to the Ocala Police. The Bike Unit officers spotted the truck near Northwest 23rd Avenue and Old Blitchton Road and alerted other officers.

Patrol officers then picked up the chase. It ended on Northwest 24th Avenue, just north of Northwest 17th Street. The occupant or occupants had fled the pickup truck when officers got there.

Inside they reportedly found 647 grams of marijuana in separate packages ready to be either sold or delivered to potential customers or be used by its suppliers.

Also found were eight grams of powdered cocaine in a package, and one package of a white powdered substance that, when tested was, was not cocaine.
