New small game hunting area available

OCALA - There is a new hunting location in Marion County for small game hunters this season.

Called the Marshall Swamp Public Small Game Hunting Area, it is located east of Maricamp Road at the eastern end of Midway Road, about six miles south of Ocala.
Wild hog, gray squirrel, quail, rabbit and certain migratory game birds in season may be legally hunted.
The small game season is Nov 8 to March 1. The migratory bird season varies with the species, but the first phase of dove season is under way now through Oct. 27.
Vehicles are permitted only in designated parking areas. For more information, read the attached brochure or call Jen Williams at 352-732-1225.
